More than 12,000 shells to explode in Spirit of Kansas fireworks show

More than 12,000 pyrotechnic shells worth more than $45,000 are certain to yield hundreds of thousands of oohs and aahs Saturday night at the fireworks display that will cap the 19th annual Spirit of Kansas festival at Lake Shawnee.
